As a practitioner, she is also a social justice advocate, a supervisor for nurse practitioners, and a provider of Suboxone for Opioid Addiction.
A healthcare professional who is devoted to finding the best solution for her patients, Rohima Miah MD believes that the most effective approach to healthcare is a holistic approach – one that looks at the whole person and all of the moving parts, rather than isolating problems and trying to identify them in a vacuum. While medications are undoubtedly important in treatment, so are family relationships, community involvement, and social engagement. In all aspects of healthcare, especially when treating addiction, it’s crucial to look at the whole picture to determine the best course of treatment and recovery. Her work has also taken her behind bars, working with inmates at the Wake County North Carolina Sheriff’s Department, offering mental health services.
